Jason’s Photos from South Dakota

Images from an infrared photo safari

Hi everyone! I’m back from a photo safari to South Dakota, where the emphasis was on infrared photography. I used my full-spectrum converted Nikon Z6 camera, and a trio of Nikkor lenses: 14-30mm f/4S, 28-75mm f/2.8, and 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 AF-P (with FTZ adapter). These lenses all work well for infrared photography.

If you follow the podcast, then you probably recall that both Rick and I had our Nikon Z6 bodies converted to full-spectrum infrared by Kolari Vision. This unique conversion allows you to capture both infrared and visible spectrum images by using different filters. We both use the Kolari Vision rear-mounted “clip-in” filters providing us with a variety of different infrared looks. Here are some of the photos I captured during my safari!
